New Lens at the Tour of Britain

The Peleton at the Lonfon leg of the Tour of Britain

I’ve had a Nikon 70-300 zoom lens for some time but it’s not fully compatible with my camera so I bought a new Nikon AF-S VR 70-300 lens last week and decided to hit up the Tour of Britain in London to give it a try out.

My initial impressions are pretty good, like anything it’ll take a little getting used to but I especially liked the Vibration Reduction feature. On the downside having the VR and auto-focus on seems to eat up the battery life of the camera.

I was glad there was a time trial as well as a stage race, gave me plenty of opportunities to try different things with the lens. I put more photos up over at Flickr.

There were wins for two British riders on the day; Alex Dowsett took the Individual Time Trial, while Mark Cavendish won the stage.
